A Walk Through the Heart of Our Acadian Forest

We recently welcomed members of Les Ami.e.s de la Nature for a peaceful walk through the beautiful Acadian forest that surrounds our cemetery — a place where nature, memory, and life exist

together.

During this special outing, participants explored the forest paths and had the opportunity to discover and identify flora, fauna and fungi that make this land so unique. From wildflowers and native plants to the diverse life growing throughout the forest, every step revealed the incredible richness and beauty of this natural environment.

Our cemetery is more than a place of remembrance — it is a place connected to nature, where the forest continues to grow, change, and thrive. The Acadian forest that surrounds us is full of life, offering a peaceful space to observe, learn, and appreciate the natural world.

One of the most meaningful conclusions from our guided flora identification walk was just how ecologically rich our land truly is. The diversity found throughout the property is a strong indication of healthy, nutrient-rich soils that have remained largely undistributed over time.

Because the land has been allowed to evolve naturally with minimal human impact, it continues to support a thriving ecosystem where many native species can flourish. This natural richness not only enhances the beauty of the landscape but also reflects the ecological integrity that makes our forest such a special place to preserve, protect and appreciate.
